Help me make a short animation!
« on: August 24, 2011, 06:38:59 PM »
Hi there  :)
I'm completely new in animation but I'm so determined to make a short animation.
What tools of 3Ds Max do I need to learn about?
Is it better to use a third-party program like poser for character animation?
(You know, there aren't a lot of tutorials about animation. Most tutorials are about modeling, lighting...)

Thanks in advance   :)

hi man,

max includes a rigging system with which you can create "bones" /Create  -> Systems -> Bones / for your character and using curves / inverse kinematics do animation. (there was also a character studio once but iam not sure if its included now in max :P). Anyway, the system is well did but not optimized like in Poser for facial animation and so, how ever you can rigg your character and do nice animation also without using Poser. Check this link, there is explained the basics with "bones" on a simply character :). We think to put here some tutorial about rigging but so far no place for it :)
