Another „making of“ in Photoshop was published by 3DTotal. This was created by Fil Barlow, who started working with Photoshop more than 10 years ago. Although he started 10 years ago, he considered yourself skills as a basic because then it was a much simpler and less robust program. He began his image by creating a sketch, which he after scanned and imported to Photoshop. To creating this making of he mostly used the Pencil tool and added some tricks with brush.

Özcan Şener published a making of his new artwork called „China Town“. In the article Özcan describes his passion about science-fiction and fantasy themes and also the kinematics which inspired him making this image. On three pages he explains his workflow by doing his artwork using 3DsMax, VRay and Photoshop starting from the modeling part where he explains how important are the hot-keys in any program to speed up your work. In the next part he explains his workflow on making textures and materials and also the importance of using photoshop by this step.

New issue of 3D World magazine is out featuring tips from the makers of the BBC’s all-CG dinosaur series and reveals secrets from the newest Rise of the Planet of the Apes movie. Also in the newest issue you can find tips for sculpting in ZBrush from Scott Spencer, replicators use in Modo and a lot of more interesting readings. The issue is also featuring a rich content on the disc with the value of $248 including 45 high-res architectural textures, two appealing cartoon vehicles and  two complete video tutorials.

R&D Group released a library consisting of 10 highly detailed 3D models of cars rigged and ready to use with MadCar. The library is featuring  3D models of cars manufactured in 2010; BMW 5-series Gran-Turismo, Buick LaCrosse, Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, Ford Fusion hybrid, Jaguar XFR, Lexus HS 250h, Lexus RX 450h, Porsche Panamera S hybrid, Toyota Land-Cruiser Prado and Volkswagen Touareg hybrid. The interior of the cars is modeled too but not highly detailed.
