Lightmap releases HDR Light Studio 4.1

modelingLightmap has released HDR Light Studio 4.1, a free update to its real-time image-based lighting tool, adding a new Live link to 3ds Max and V-Ray.

Artists can now light their scenes with real-time feedback using V-Ray RT as the ActiveShade renderer and HDR Light Studio’s innovative interactive HDR canvas. Sophisticated lighting environments can be created in moments to perfectly light and reflect in your shot. It’s an amazing new approach to light V-Ray scenes, seeing the lighting interact with your materials in your final shot.

Splineland is released

modelingSplineLand is a plugin for Autodesk 3ds Max that helps to generate topographically accurate terrains from a set of splines and lay roads. Without SplineLand it is almost impossible to achieve such accurate results in 3ds Max. You can do it quickly, in just a few clicks your topographical data in form of splines can become a terrain.

Splines can be topographic contours in one plane each, or can be just any shape.

 

 

 

OTOY released Octane Render 1.1

OTOY released Octane Render 1.1OTOY released a new stable version of their GPU based renderer, Octane Render 1.1 standalone.  With current GPU technology, Octane Render can produce final images 10 to 50 times faster than CPU unbiased render engines, or even more with multiple GPUs (depending on the GPU(s) used). The new release comes with a large number of exciting features between which belongs the HDRI Environment Importance sampling which significantly reduce noise in scenes where most light is coming from the environment. Next, a new daylight model was implemented together with some post-processing effects such s glare and bloom which expand the possibilities of Octane Render even more.
