Daz3D recently released the new 3D figure art and animation tool DAZ Studio 4. Now the software includes a new joint system that relies on hand-painted weight-maps to control the bending of a figure. Known as the TriAx™ weight-map system. The ability of painting separately each map for each axis of rotation give the artists new level of control. With this improvement comes also new auto-rigging system. From now the artist need only to take the origin of the mesh and pull, push into anything he can imagine.
