CGSociety’s CGWorkshops is opening at 22nd August a new online course called “High-End Fantasy Game Art Creation” by Katon Callaway. The course is focused on the modern game art industry where a high standard can seem overwhelming. The course takes eight weeks and during this time Katon Callaway will try to teach you and guide you through the process of creating high-quality, industry ready assets that can be used in modern engines.

The a package include 10 highly detailed and shadered models of Cars; Mini Cooper S, Mercedes ML 500, Mercedes SLS AMG, Bentley Continental Supersports, BMW 6, Audi A8, Lamborghini Gallardo, Ferrari 458 Italia, Porsche Panamera and Land Rover Range Rover. The models are ready to render but the package don’t include any HDRi map or environment, this part you have to do yourself. The pack is download only and includes 10 cars of size 2,28 GB.
Autodesk, the leader in 3D technology and the maker of 3DsMax and Maya got five-year exclusive license for Disney’s Xgen Arbitrary Primitive Generator technology which was used by Walt Disney Animation Studios. The technology for Xgen was presented back in 2003 at Siggraph in a white paper by Walt Disney for creation of generated fur, feathers, and foliage. From that time the technology was used in several Disney’s animation like Tangled, Toy Story 3 and others for simulating foliage, flowers, grass and trees.
