Ginger HDR has released tonemapping plugin for After Effects CS3.0+ and Premiere 5.0+, in open beta. Ginger HDR is follower of Natural HDR. They changed name because of business and legal reasons. This plugin allow to users to adjust colour and light levels in footage without landing. Ginger HDR website provides you some useful tutorials on how to use the parameters. The Open Beta goes until 8th of January and is available only for Windows until now.

Yeti is Peregrine Labs new product focused on fur, feathers, leaves and generating lots of things based around familiar working concepts of a procedural graph directly within Autodesk’s Maya. The toolset has been developed as an end to end solution that easily integrates into most pipelines with ease and built with the goal of efficiently transporting and rendering the data generated while maintaining an artist friendly workflow. Yeti aims to be package agnostic and supports various rendering engines including Pixar’s Renderman and 3Delight with support for others coming soon. 

Software developer WTools3D has released the latest version of its modelling plug-in for LightWave. New release includes some impressive new features e.g. full UV Mapping support – UV mapping support applied into every polygonal based tool or Shape Library 2 – next generation of Shape Library, fully compatible with the previous version or streamlined toolset – redundant tools removed and enlarged functionality of existing tools. This version is available for Windows and Mac and you can purchase it for 299$. You can also upgrade it from version 2.x and 3.x for 149 – 225$.

New upgrade, Xfrog 5 for CINEMA 4D, adds speed, stability, and full compatibility with CINEMA 4D R13. Xfrog 5 is a procedural organic 3D modeler that allows you to create and animate 3d trees, flowers, nature based special effects or architectural forms.
