Pixar Animation Studios has announced RenderMan for Maya 5.0. Alongside the advancements to its ray tracing technology, the upgrade also includes a new ray tracing hider, a radiosity cache, and physically plausible shading. The lighting and shading process has also been accelerated with new lighting tools, including re-rendering technology used in Toy Story 3 and Cars 2, as well as progressive ray-traced re-rendering for real time look development.

Further additions include deep compositing and enhanced realistic motion blur. You can buy it for $995 or as student for $199 on a renewable one-year subscription.
