cebas released finalRender 3.5 Service Pack 12

modelingcebas Visual Technology Inc. announces the immediate release of its 12th and latest Service Pack for finalRender 3.5 SE as well as for the integrated and standalone finalToon 3.5.

This Service Pack provides smart fixes to issues that were reported earlier by cebas customers, improving finalRender’s stability and workflow even more in 3ds Max 2013. It also includes new options that are added to enhance users’ experience and feature variability.

finalRender 3.5 SP12 now comes with 49 film response curves that can be easily chosen from a drop down list. These film response curves exactly mimic the specific behavior of a real 35mm film material as it was sold to photographers back in the days. Not so long ago, making pictures was a real challenge - Only hardcore, trained professional could do the job of handling all chemicals involved in the development process.

finalRender 3.5 SP12 allows you to simulate the colors and saturation for results that are amazingly original in appearance and impression. All color and light response calculations are based on physically accurate measurements of the real film material, creating a truly unique experience and style to image rendering.

Introducing this feature to finalRender and 3ds Max rendering offers a whole new world of photo realism and creativity like nothing else. In a sense, finalRender 3.5 SP12 is a way to virtually save and conserve the actual film materials for future generations.

Changes in finalRender 3.5 SE Service Pack 12 include:

  • New method and enhanced algorithm to improve caustic light pattern calculations, especially when curved or blurry objects are used.
  • A reported issue when rendering splines has been tracked down and is now solved.
  • Various instabilities within finalRender materials (e.g. velvet, gradient3d, tension) have been tracked down and fixed.
  • Reported instabilities when using finalRender wire shader have been identified and fixed.
  • Support for latest Intel CPU types has been added and improved.
  • Stability and processing speed of finalRender proxies are enhanced.
  • HarmonicsGI engine has been enhanced, creating less artifacts.
  • Distributed Network Rendering (DR) occasionally created an instability when using ImageGI has been tracked down and resolved.
  • DR is now properly working in 3ds Max 2013.
  • fR Scatter instability issues were reported and resolved.
  • finalToon instabilities were identified and addressed.
  • Random occurrences of missing lines in finalToon have been tracked down and resolved.
