Preview of Creating Game Characters with ZBrush and TopoGun Tutorial by Digital-Tutors

modeling

Digital-Tutors revealed a preview of an upcoming training called „Creating Game Characters with ZBrush and TopoGun Tutorial“. It is their first tutorial covering TopoGun – a powerful topology tool used in the character creation workflow. It teaches you how to use ZBrush and TopoGun to convert a high resolution character into a lower resolution game-type model. Sculpting applications are great for creating highly-detailed models, but to be able to rig, animate or integrate these models into a game engine, artists first have to convert the model to a much lower resolution. TopoGun is a great tool for taking detailed meshes and allowing us to very intuitively redraw this new topology.

This is allowed by Wacom's most recent device: the Inkling. he Inkling is a pen that is equipped with a transmitter that captures movements made on paper and transmits them to its own storage device where these movements are processed into corresponding digital images. This device is ideal for all traditional artists who have not yet warmed up to the idea of working with touch tablets.
