Autodesk has announced a new set of software Advantage Packs at SIGGRAPH 2011. The 2012 Advantage Packs contain powerful new enhancements, in which are integrated high-performance third-party technology, speeded up common workflows, and extended creative capabilities. The updates, which are due to ship in September, are free to users on Subscription contracts.
A first Release Candidate for Blender 2.59 has just been released. This release fixes 132 bugs. Except this contains some good addons. Additions include fly modeand Node UI improvements, 3D mouse support for 3D Connexion devices, for more natural control during view navigato, improved keymap editing or Ivy Generator, which adds the ability to "grow" curves over an existing mesh with the option of adding leaves and adjusting many parameters for the final result.
Reallusion, developer of 3D animation and imaging technology has pre-announced iClone 5 with a special offer. Latest version is tweaked with Autodesk’s® HumanIK® game middleware. iClone5 enables characters to interact realistically with their environment or even other characters. Animation can also be created in-house by moving the body in front of a Kinect Motion Capture system, plus real-time physics, toon rendering and other shader effects are included.
Autodesk released the second Hotfix #4 for Maya 2012. Hotfix #4 includes an update to Maya Composite. This hotfix should fix several important issues with this software. A list of the bug fixes for Maya 2012 and also for Composite 2012 you can see below. Download the hotfix from Autodesk webpage. Every hotfix is cumulative. It contains the fixes from hotfix that preceded it.
