In this you will learn how to design and texture a high detailed model of McLaren SLR 722s Roadster hyper car in 3DsMax. The training DVD focus at most on the vehicle design himself and also on techniques how to create realistic textures. Making of "Talos"

Another „making of“ was created by Emanuel Da Silva Luz. Theme for his making of was to make a demon centaur, a half-horse and half- demon.  Even for creating this one, he studied an anatomy of horses. He detaily explained how he managed all phases af this project including sculpting, retopology, hard surface modelin, texturing, lightning and rendering and others. 

 

MPC helps to create Pirates of Caribbean

Leading VFX studio MPC has explained how they created 300 plus shots for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. MPC has participated in the creation of such a scene and full stereo VFX shots as it were CG waterfalls and environments, mermaid’s tendrils, and a CG ship: Queen Anne’s Revenge, which included sails, ropes and rigging.

The only thing you need to get this tutorial is to buy the 29th issue of 3DArtist and you will find the training on the DVD. The tutorial itself is about rendering and presentation of artwork did in Zbrush. The new rendering features of Zbrush 4 are now on a very high level and for a high quality render you don’t need to use any other 3D software.  The course covers several topics like ambient occlusion rendering, adding subsurface scattering effects to our ZBrush models, rendering transparent refractive surfaces, rendering our ZBrush artwork into multiple passes for compositing purposes.

Andrew Finch posted on 3D Total his making of. He was inspired by a reference photo on internet. Andrew as a game creator created this during his lunch breaks in one week. He is interested in lighting and texturing, so we sure recommend focusing primarily on this part. He explained how he managed a lightning setting, which can be useful by similar modelling.
