Recently haggis visual effects & animation released a script which allows the users of Autodesk Maya 2012 to export they work into Houndinis Mantra standalone render engine and so use the advantage of this powerful renderer. The exporter should support as much features as possible directly out of Maya. To this day a working Alpha release is out supporting Windows only and Autodesk Maya 2012. The Alpha release is supporting so far just the basics function such as Sampling, Depth of Filed and some more and a lot of features have to be done in the future. Cebas announced the releasing of an compatibility update for scalpelMax, maxVR, volumeBreaker and stairMax for 3DsMax 2012. All 4-tools will provide the same features and special effects like before and all registered customers can download them from Cebas download page.
scalpelMax is a 3DsMax plugin offering advanced slicing functionality for CAD visualizations with poly count higher than 100.000. The plugin is compatible with 32 and 64-bit version of 3DsMax and 3DsMAx design.
Evermotion released a new version of their standalone render engine called NOX. Because there is very less basic information about this renderer we can’t tell for sure about the team which is developing the render engine or more information this kind, but because it’s hosted by Evermotion we guess it’s they development. NOX renderer is a render engine based on unbiased methods and it’s free of use also for commercial purposes. NOX is compatible with Autodesk 3DsMax 2011 (lower) and Blender, but the developers promised to release TODAY a version compatible also with Autodesk 3DsMax 2012.
E-on software released a new version of their real time renderer LumenRT 1.2 for SketchUp with several quality and reliability enhancements to improve overall performance and stability of LumenRT. The new version brings the ability to process larger models such as large structures or cities. Also, e-on software implemented a new auto-scale lightning feature which can improve the performance of render from 30% to 300% depending on the size of the models.
