FurryBall 2.2 released

FurryBall is unique real-time GPU renderer in production quality implemented directly into maya. You can see your render in real-time hairs, Maya Fluids, with bumpmaps, textures, soft shadows, reflections and refractions, ambient occlusion and colour bleeding, depth of field and many other features directly in Maya viewport. This new version contains e.g. instancer support or textures analysis - saves memory by loading only necessary texture mip-map levels and much more.

 

 

Shaderlight brings interactive rendering to Google SketchUp

A host of new features for architects and designers means Shaderlight Pro users can now render animations directly in Google SketchUp. The animation tool appears as a new button on the Shaderlight toolbar, giving access to a simple interface that enables renders of the SketchUp scene as a sequence of photoreal images for animation. The new Pro version will also render animations created using SUanimate and Keyframe Animation plugins. Shaderlight Pro v2 also hosts the unique new Replace Me function. 

Mitsuba Renderer 0.3.0 Released

Mitsuba, the physics based, open source (GPL) renderer, has just released a new version. Some of the new features include python integration, spectral rendering, material modifiers, scene portability and better documentation. This renderer is compatible with almost all OS. The service packs fixing some discovered issues like the issue by using Caustic in the scene as well improving the overall performance for both finalRender 3.5 and finalToon 3.5. finalRender 3.5 brings new enhancements and features that offer more stability and productivity. The introduction of a completely new GI-Engine along with an innovative concept for handling primary and secondary GI-Engines fulfills the highest demands of finalRender users. Pixar announce RenderMan for Maya 5.0

Pixar Animation Studios has announced RenderMan for Maya 5.0. Alongside the advancements to its ray tracing technology, the upgrade also includes a new ray tracing hider, a radiosity cache, and physically plausible shading. The lighting and shading process has also been accelerated with new lighting tools, including re-rendering technology used in Toy Story 3 and Cars 2, as well as progressive ray-traced re-rendering for real time look development.
