3D Artist issue 41 is out

modelingNew issue of 3D Artist magazine is already released and includes the ultimate guide to renderers, how to model a concept car in 3ds Max, an artist’s introduction to Unity 3.5, plus loads more. Tutorials in issue 41 include Hussain Almossawri and Marin Myftiu slick concept car. We can follow the steps to design, model, light and render a Jaguar-inspired vehicle and learn how to design the wheel rims, prepare your blueprints, and bring out the true beauty of your renders.

In the workshop, Unity guru Roald Hoyer-Hansen gives us an artist’s introduction to the free game engine in this issue’s Back to basics tutorial. Have Unity 3.5 demystified by Roald as you create a simple studio setup, complete with realistic lighting.

Luxion announces KeyShot 3.2

rendererLuxion announces the upcoming version of their render engine KeyShot. This new version does not bring new features. This release is focused on enhancements and improvements to the existing functionality. Luxion promises that we will see enhanced speed, a cleaner interface and a few handfuls of fixes sure to make creating your renderings even faster. KeyShot 3.2 will have support for Autodesk Maya 2013, Autodesk ALIAS 2013 and Spanish language support. Luxion plans to release this update in next couple weeks.

 

 

E-on Software announces Vue 10.5

modelingE-on Software announces Vue 10.5 xStream and Infinite, the latest production-driven version of its professional solutions for the creation, animation and rendering of natural 3D environments. Vue Infinite operates as a standalone application while Vue xStream works seamlessly inside 3ds Max, Maya, Softimage, LightWave and Cinema4D.

This new version includes many feature and interface optimizations, leading to a better, faster and more streamlined workflow. Users of Vue 10.5 xStream also get the option to import multiple Vue cameras to their host app. New features also including improvements to the spline toolset, the option to stack instances of EcoSystems, an updated Terrain Fractal node, and extensions to Python and network rendering tools.

Evermotion NOX Competition

Evermotion lunches new competition which is focused on using their render engine NOX renderer. Topic of this contest is „Mechanical Life“. You can use any 3d software, but note, that you can export data to NOX, which using is required, only from 3ds max and Blender. As usually you have to submit a WIP on their forum when you`ll reach each of these milestones – Concept Sketch or Reference Photo, Modeling, Texturing, Lighting and Rendering, Post Effects and Composing, Final Image.  Multiple entries are not allowed but you can post up to three different camera angles for one scene.

Adobe announced Adobe® Creative Cloud™, a radical new way of providing tools and services that will change the game for creatives worldwide.  A subscription-based offering, Adobe Creative Cloud is a hub for making, sharing and delivering creative work and it is centered around a powerful release of Adobe Creative Suite® 6 software, packed with innovation across its industry-defining design, Web, video and digital imaging tools.

Rather than streaming the applications, a Cloud subscription will enable users to download and install any CS6 product on any computer. So long as you don’t run the copies simultaneously, you can install each package on two computers, mixing Windows and Mac OS X versions if necessary.
